Mike Allerton

Certified Master Beekeeper - University of Florida

about me

I resumed beekeeping after decades out of the game.  I had developed a sensitiviy to bee venom after many hundreds of stings when I was a teenager.

When I no longer had severe reactions in 2015, I started beekeeping again with a couple of hives.

I ravenously consumed every piece of information I could find: Books, videos, classes.  It wasn’t enough.

I signed up to Australia’s trade beekeeper program – Certificate III Beekeeping and to University of Florida Master Beekeeper Program completing both in 2023.

I’m continuing with the University of Florida Program at the highest level – Master Craftman Beekeeper.

I support recreational beekeepers by working in the committees of my local club, Hawkesbury Beekeepers and the national association, Amateur Beekeepers Australia.

I bring innovative products to beekeepers to add life easier or more fun.  I’ll soon be manufacturing Slovenian hives in Australia making beekeeping back friendly and accessible to those confined to a wheelchair.

If you’re ever in Kurrajong Heights, Australia, you are welcome to stop by to check out the bees.
